The sun is out. Flowers are blooming. Grass is greener. Birds are singing. Today marks the first day of spring, and this past weekend the LHSAA wrapped up its winter sports season at the conclusion of five consecutive weeks. After six different championship events, let's celebrate 49 state championship teams from all across Louisiana. The stretch from mid-February through mid-March is a magical time for high school sports in Louisiana. If your organization is interested in submitting a bid, please select the respective sport link below. All proposals shall be reviewed and analyzed by the LHSAA staff and if needed, a site visit by LHSAA staff to the facility will be arranged. The LHSAA administration will make a recommendation to the Executive Committee during their June meeting. 2017 Boys’ Basketball Bracket Release Has Been Postponed

An LHSAA member school is appealing the decision of the Executive Director as it pertains to a decision made for a forfeiture and suspension of athletes. The next steps for appeal are an LHSAA Sportsmanship Hearing with potential for an emergency appeal to the LHSAA Executive Committee immediately following. Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Prep Classic Recap – Classes 1A-5A

The Logansport Tigers won their second ever state title 34-28 over Haynesville. QB Dalton Shaw threw a 14-yard TD pass to Joe Caraway with only 24 seconds left to stun the Golden Tornado after a furious 4th quarter rally. The Tigers outscored the defending state champs 28-0 in the final frame after trailing 28-6. Head Coach Kevin Magee completed a stunning turnaround at his alma mater after taking over a 2-9 team just three years ago. Magee led Logansport to their only other state championship as the starting QB in 1995. Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Prep Classic Recap - Divisions I - IV

The Select weekend of the Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Prep Classic kicked off on Friday, December 2nd at 10:00am with four games on the docket. 15 hours later, four teams could forever call themselves “state champions.” Ascension Episcopal and Southern Lab began the day in the Division IV title game. Despite committing a Class 1A/Division IV team record 19 penalties, the Kittens won 36-9 behind Most Outstanding Player Tyrion Davis who, in turn, set a Class 1A/Division IV individual record with 244 rushing yards on only eight carries. LHSAA State Championship Season Off To A Rousing Start

The end of November is always a time set asides to give thanks. However, mid-November is a time set aside for several LHSAA member-schools to give thanks on the court, track and in the pool. State championship season in Louisiana begins every year with a ten-day marathon in three cities spanning across the state. The Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Volleyball State Tournament, which took place at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, is consistently one of the most exciting events on the LHSAA calendar. Forty teams took over the lakefront from November 10-12 to play quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. 2016 Prep Classic Poster Contest Winner

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) and Raising Cane’s congratulate Anna Wright, a sophomore of Breaux Bridge Senior High School, for winning the 2016 LHSAA Prep Classic Poster Contest! Anna’s artwork will serve as the official poster and program cover for the 2016 Allstate Sugar Bowl Prep Classic and she will be featured in the souvenir program for the event.  She will be recognized during halftime of the Class 4A championship game with her Art teacher, Ron S. Burdick, principal Louis Blanchard, Allstate Sugar Bowl and Superdome representatives.
