Bouncing Back

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m a crazy LSU fan. This past weekend’s game against the University of Georgia was a soul-crusher for Tiger Nation. It’s easy to become wrapped up in the spirit of the game and forget the true value of sports.

Losing is an inevitable evil at some point or another in the life of a competitive athlete. In my opinion, it’s not always about winning, but rather about how you respond to both victory and defeat. Bouncing back from a heartbreaking loss isn’t always easy, but it’s crucial to the future success of your team and yourself.

Consider reminding yourself that a single loss won’t keep you from achieving your goals; your continued negative reaction will do that. Surrounding yourself with friends who will surely remind you the world is still turning is also a great idea for helping recover from defeat. Finally, refocusing your efforts and allowing the setback to strengthen your resolve to get better and better can do wonders for your spirit. In no time, you’ll be right back in the game ready to perform at an even higher level.
